CDMA 450

With the rollout of CDMA 450 networks there will be a significant increase in the requirement for sites in urban and, potentially, rural environments. Many of the preferred site locations have already been populated by the mature 2G networks, making the location of BTS and antennas ever more difficult. Many landlords are reluctant to agree to extra antennas, do not have space available to accommodate additional BTS or are concerned about the visual impact.

Where it is possible to obtain permission for the locating of antennas on rooftops etc it may not be possible to deploy a BTS close to the antenna, thus reducing or eliminating the advantage of the site due to excessive cable loss.

Many concepts have been discussed that will facilitate this demand for more and more sites.
